Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury

Distopya... Okuması inanılmaz güzel ve sarsıcı ama bir o kadar da karamsar tür...

Fahrenheit 451, kağıdın yanabilme derecesidir.

Düşünün ki kitaplar o kadar zararlı ki bulundukları anda ev ve içindeki insanlarla beraber yakılıyorlar...

Düşünün ki bu yakma işini de "itfaiyeciler" yapıyor. 

Düşünün ki kitapları saklamanın yolunu bulamayan asiler(?) onları ancak ezberleyerek koruyor.

İncil dahil yazılı her eser bir asinin zihninde kilitli ve saklı. Kitaplar harflerle değil anlatılarak okunuyor. 

İşte Fahrenheit 451, bu zihniyetin anlatıldığı bir eser. Yazarın anlatımı oldukça yalın kelimelerle yapılmış. 

İnanılmaz sürükleyici. Oldukça vurucu. Her distopyada olduğu gibi "Ya olursa?" korkusu hakim. 

Edebiyat severler bu kitabı, her yanan kitapla birlikte elleri titreyerek
okuyacaklardır...

Dystopia... Incredibly fascinating to read, yet utterly pessimist as well...

Fahrenheit 451 is the temperature at which the paper burns...

Imagine that books are so dangerous that they are burned along with the house and people inside them right after they are detected.

Imagine that this process is conducted by "firefighters".

Imagine that, the rebels(?), who cannot find any other ways of preserving the books, memorize them.

Each book, including the Holy Bible, is locked and preseved in the mind of a nomad. Books are read not by letters but by telling.

That's the mentality told in Fahrenheit 451. The narration is done through quite bare sentences.

It is a real page turner. Extremely striking. As in every dystopic work, the fear of "What if it happens?" is a dominant feeling.

Book lovers will surely read the book with shaky hands while each book is being burned.

Solaris - Stanislaw Lem

Kitaplar birikti ama uzun süredir pek yazacak vaktim olmadı. Ben de okuduğum kitapların bazılarını bir arada yorumlayayım dedim. Fakat Solaris'e ayrı bir yer gerekir diye düşündüm.

Filmini uzun süredir merak ediyordum. Normalde "Hemen filmini izlemeliyim", diyen tiplerden değilimdir. Ama bilim kurgu sinemasında, Solaris filminin yeri ayrıdır tabi. Kitaplar bambaşkadır ama... 

Kitap gerçekten şahane. İnanılmaz tüyler ürpertici ama bir o kadar da tesirli bir hikaye var eserde. Çok temizce ve heyecanı hep yüksek tutan cümleler içinde kayboluyorsunuz. Yalnız, kitap, türünün gereği bilime çok fazlaca yer veriyor. Bu kısımlar bazıları için yorucu bir okuma gerektirebilir ama ben olması imkansıza yakın bir şeyi bilimle tane tane açıkladığı için de çok seviyorum bu türü (Başka pek çok nedenle birlikte! )

Bilimkurgu edebiyatının (ve hatta sinemasının) başyapıtlarından bu eseri türe aşina ve müptela herkese tavsiye ediyorum...

Not: Hem edebiyatta hem de sinemada bu türe daha az değer verilmesi ve ödüllerden bağımsız tutulması beni eskiden beri çok rahatsız ediyor. Halbuki ortada inanılmaz kaliteli yapım ve yapıtlar var.

Lots of books have been waiting to be written on but I have not had the time to review on them. Solaris is one of them.

I had been wondering the movie adaptations for a long time. Normally I'm not one of those people who say "I should see the film". Yet, for the sci-fi cinema, Solaris has a very peculiar place. Books are more distinctive, though.

The novel is really a literary marvel. It has a thrilling and moving story. You lose yourself in the neat and tensional sentences. As the genre requires, the book is full of scientific explanations. These parts may bring about a tiresome reading for some but I love the genre mainly because it tells something that is really improbable by scientific explanations (Among many other reasons!).

I advise the work to everyone who is familiar with or addicted to the genre...

P.S. It has long bothering me that sci-fi is deprived of the value it deserves in both literature and cinema while there are incredibly qualified works.
